Jenna Tong is a Certified Nurse-Midwife who earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing degrees from Emory University in 2021 and 2022, respectively. Before midwifery school, she dedicated herself to many facets of the healthcare field. Jenna graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention from the University of Southern California (USC) in 2016, earning Dean's List over multiple semesters. While juggling academics, she competed on USC's Division I Cross Country and Track & Field teams. She also volunteered as a Patient Advocate at Torrance Memorial Hospital, traveled abroad to Costa Rica to volunteer at an HIV clinic, and experienced her first labor and deliveries at a hospital in Phitsanulok, Thailand. In addition, she has three years of experience working as a Lead Medical Assistant and Licensed Phlebotomist at an IVF clinic in Northern California. Jenna's passion for catching babies ignited early on, and all her experiences have been stepping stones toward her midwifery ambitions.
While at Emory University, Jenna was fortunate enough to work alongside amazing midwives at the Atlanta Birth Center, the second birth center in Georgia. During her time there, Jenna provided comprehensive and holistic midwifery care. She has experience implementing low-intervention and supporting unmedicated and medicated births, water births, birthing in various positions, and labor support. She sees all the amazing things the human body can do and fully supports its natural power and beauty. She strives to facilitate empowerment, respect, safety, and compassion for all her clients. In the future, Jenna is interested in incorporating abdominal massage techniques and other physiological approaches throughout the pregnancy and labor to make the baby's navigation through the pelvis easier.
When not catching babies, she enjoys baking sweet treats (and making her family taste-test!), exploring the beauty of Georgia’s nature on hikes, fishing trips, and runs, enjoying the beach at her hometown in Southern California, dancing to live music, and traveling with her significant other. She is excited to join the North Atlanta Women’s Care family and be a part of your birth journey!
