Amber Becker is a board-certified women's health nurse practitioner. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Oklahoma in 2000. She enjoyed 7yrs as a labor and delivery nurse before obtaining a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati in 2008. She holds a national certification with the National Certification Corporation (NCC) and has been practicing as a women's health nurse practitioner since 2009. She has had a full schedule managing her own patients, ordering diagnostic testing, providing treatment, and prescribing necessary medications for women of all ages.
Amber offers annual well-woman exams and, because she has received approval from ASCCP, she is able to follow up on abnormal pap smear findings with colposcopy and perform cervical biopsies if needed. She is also able to provide further investigation and treatment of common gynecological issues such as abnormal uterine bleeding and pelvic pain.
Amber has had training and significant experience with managing contraception, including IUD insertion and removal, Nexplanon insertion and removal, as well as prescribing oral contraceptive pills, depo Provera, and dermal patches. When contraception is no longer needed, Amber also has experience in managing menopausal symptoms with hormone replacement therapy. She has been able to assist physicians in providing care to women during their pregnancies and the postpartum period as well.
The knowledge and skills she has acquired allow her to provide excellent care, guidance, and support to women across their lifespans.
Amber recently moved to Georgia with her husband and is proud to be joining the amazing team of women at North Atlanta Women's Care, where she is excited to help meet the needs of women in the community. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with family, golfing, and hiking.
Amber is currently practicing at our Suwanee, Alpharetta, and Cumming offices.
